A photograph of James Acord's cat Eddie in Richland, WA. On the back of this photograph, Acord wrote a full letter to his "Friends" [Janet & Edward Galore], dated 10 May 1995.
This letter concerns: (1) Acord's thanks for them visiting him and Eddie; (2) Acord's hopes that the Galores made it to Dale Travous' party and are having fun in L.A.; (3) Acord sharing the company Zombie with people in Hanford; (4) that Acord bought a cat brush and is now brushing Eddie; (5) Acord's thoughts about what Eddie is thinking in the image.

An undated, handwritten card from James Acord to Janet Galore. The face of the card shows a picture by Ken Harris of the 13 April 1949 earthquake damage in Pioneer Square, Seattle, WA. Acord has added a note below the picture: "I remember this earthquake!"
The content of this card notes a book (that this likely accompanied) by "Wallace," possibly with "Infinity" in the title [I assume that this refers to "Infinite Jest" by David Foster Wallace]. Acord notes that he read it twice, but "couldn't follow it all" and notes that Wallace is "a good, though highly eccentric, writer". Acord also mentions Prof. Georg Canton.

A single-sheet, 2-page handwritten letter titled "Galore house-sit" from James Acord to Edward and Janet Galore, 21-29 April, but no year noted. This is a sheet removed from a spiral notebook.
This letter concerns: (1) arrival on the 21st and staying at the home on the 22nd; (2) Sunday morning visits from Don Carver and daughter Vanessa and then Linley Storm, and then feeding the cat ["Push Button"]; (3) Sunday night at Don Carver's; (4) spending the 25th through the 28th with Tom Putnam at his studio; (5) leaving to Eastern Washington on the night of the 28th, after clearing out the food in the home; (6) Don Carver picking him up on the 29th to return to Everett, WA; (7) final efforts to clean up the Galores' home.

A handwritten letter from James Acord on 11 January 2000 to Janet Galore.
This letter concerns: (1) Acord being occupied with preparation for application to Imperial College's residency; (2) hope that Janet comes for a visit, with a note about a "key in a bottle sculpture"; (3) Acord sending 3 extra color images with the letter and a full grant proposal – asking Janet to copy the text to produce full copies for Linley Storm, Tom Putnam, and Philip Schuyler; (4) the wind chill in Alaska, and its beauty.

This card discusses: (1) gratitude for the help given by the Galores to get Acord to Slovenia; (2) that Acord's exhibition there looks great; (3) mention of "the NSK people" that he is with [Neue Slowenische Kunst]; (4) upcoming travel to Ljubljana for a series of lectures and then travel to London for a residency; (5) Acord's expectation that he will return in time for the wedding of Linley [Storm] and Eric [Boyette].

A "Daniel Smith Postcard" of hand-made paper, painted by James Acord on the recto with a pumpkin and a moon. and "Full MOON on Halloween - 2001" written below, with Acord's signature. On the verso, it is merely addressed to "Janet, Edward & PushButton Galore" with no additional message.

This card discusses: (1) work on a "Sci Art" grant; (2) looking forward to a visit in January 2000; (3) work on transmutation plans; (4) a 3 ft. iguana that is his temporary "roommate".

A postcard from Slovenia, not postmarked, from James Acord to Janet and Edward Galore and "Button" [Push Button, the Galores' cat]. This is not dated, but likely from c. 1999, after Acord went to Slovenia for the "Atomic" exhibition.
The message concerns: (1) thanking Janet and Edward for hosting him after his return, and for Push Button's support; (2) him heading off to Linley Storm's wedding; (3) that he will catch up with them.

A postcard written (on the verso) and painted (on the recto) by James Acord for Janet and Edward Galore, dated 20 February 1995. This is on "A Daniel Smith Postcard" — a handmade paper postcard developed by Daniel Smith Art Supply, Seattle, WA.
The recto has a drawing/painting of the "Saint Street Studio" (Hanford Nuclear Sculpture Works), signed and dated with "Valentine for Janet & Edward Galore" at top, with a heart.
The verso contains a dense letter to the Galores, which describes: (1) Acord heading out to Idaho National Engineering Laboratory; (2) appreciation for a mixed tape titled "Mrs. Galore in Absentia"; (3) Acord's hopes for a new cat, and a memory of the last one he had; (4) an exploration of all the possible types of cat that the Galore's could bring to him, including "the one with ears chewed down level to his skull, and missing one eye who bites every hand that feeds it."
