The first is an ad with a headline "Why Are You Shamed By Your Mistakes In English?" for "Good English — the Language of Success." The second is an ad for "Capital Carelink," showing a fallen elderly woman.
Both are clearly humorous, self-critical commentary.

A photocopy of the article "Overheard at the BA" in issue 67 of the Newsletter of the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, 22 September – 5 October 1998. This is annotated by Acord (on the original) with "all these are pretty good," and one of the quotes is from him: "So I went up to her and said 'Madam Secretary, can I ask you what it will take to get my fine art into a national gallery?' And without missing a beat Hazel O'Leary [US energy secretary] said to me: 'An act of Congress'." Acord notes below this printed quote, "well, not quite what I said."
