Scope and Content

Two copies of a 23 February 1995 report by Battelle, Pacific Northwest Laboratories on the "Isotopic Content of HLV Tanks," specifically the 324 Building High Level Vault (HLV) at Hanford. These are highly contaminated underground stainless steel tanks located inside the 324 Building (Chemical Materials Engineering Laboratory) in the 300 Area of the Hanford Site. These tanks, alongside the Radiochemical Engineering Cells (REC), were used to manage high-activity liquid radioactive waste generated during research on nuclear fuel and waste vitrification between 1966 and 1996.
